Kytoaster
Searching is leading to different results?!?4" seems to be the oem size, but I've seen people say that 5 1/4" "will" fit, but no mention if you have to hammer/cut anything?I just want to put something in there, no speakers is killing me (I enjoy am radio in the morning), but I don't want to have to use a grinder or a hammer to make them fit! hobospyder
Shit I thought they were 3.5 Quote Link to comment
Kytoaster
welp, 4" speakers definitely don't fit. I have the AM radio with the single speaker, and it looks like it's going to be a 5 1/4" speaker. Quote Link to comment
MantisX620
5.25". I used MDF spacers and put 6.5" in mine. 1 Quote Link to comment
Kytoaster
Gracias! I've gotta go return these 4" speakers and grab some 5.25's so I can jam out to am radio Quote Link to comment
orangie
Add Dynamat or similar material to the back of the speaker and it puts a lot more sound into the truck. Quote Link to comment

Sh00bs
SO, i did speakers yesterday and i think i can shed some light on the confusion. the OEM speakers are infact 4" the holes they bolt into are 5.25" into the kick panel. the confusion lies in that the Speakers screw into the speaker covers, and the speaker covers screw into the kick panel... so you can used 5.25" speakers i believe straight into the kick panel OR use some oem sized 4" speakers to screw onto the speaker cover like i did, then screw the speaker cover (w/ the speaker on it) back onto the 5.25" kick panel 4 bolt hole. hope this helps others in the future Quote Link to comment
