flatcat19
Jacob...count me in if you do. An RF chip to the push button would be a sweet feature. 2 Quote Link to comment
edekalil
What you really need is the screw driver start mod. That's what I was thinking where you make the connection across the solenoid with a screw driver. Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
The button itself is well documented online. Currently writing code. Hoping to have a demo tonight. 2 Quote Link to comment
shacks510
I hate newer cars with that keyfob push start bullshit. It's a joke. My moms old Toyota Venza had that and it only worked when it wanted to. That car was a piece of shit, not to mention slow as hell. Push starts are for high school girls who have too many bottles of lotion and lip gloss to dig through in their 10 gallon coach purses to find a real key. I like a real key. I would never eliminate a mechanical keyswitch for a fancy push button. What happens if the electronics fail and you're stuck? ... just my .02¢ Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
dig through in their 10 gallon coach purses to find a real key!!!!!!!!! fuck I hate that!!!!!!!! esp when cell phone ringing also and still cant find it. I dont get the "PUSHBUTTON" thing myself. mine all fixed by cleaning and reseat connector then it STARTS Quote Link to comment

And the first problem with your story is why in the hell did your mom buy such a piece of shit car to begin with...? 1 Quote Link to comment
edekalil
Simpler is better to me. I like the stock key setup. I guess a push button could be neat. Quote Link to comment

Makes it easier for our old cars to be stolen... like by scumbags at the eagle rock swapmeet. Dealers like to scam people into buying shit cars. Salesmen work on a quota so they'll say anything to make a sale. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
You can still always hotwire our cars, ain't that hard. Considering all the things I am doing/planning to do, a push button start I no less secure and is less of a hassle. 2 Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
Exactly it's one of the best upgrades I have ever did.. Plus like he said you can upgrade with alarms or hide the kill switch to well never mind they will find it. But it's still cool to just start my truck by the push of a button. 1 Quote Link to comment

Don't you have to have a fob sender or sensor to tell the push button that it's YOU and not some thief? That's just as bad as carrying a key. I'd rather carry a manly looking key. Quote Link to comment

If they want they will steal it any how any way. Thats what insurance is for.I don't care. 2 Quote Link to comment

Both have key fobs that kill the ignition system and lock the doors. They are both awesome  4 Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
I mounted my button in place of the cigarette lighter. Started to mess around with the code, definitely on the right track, just need to sort it out. 2 Quote Link to comment
