dhp123166
What kind of unprofessional car thief would steal a Datsun? Hope Ray finds his car. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
A stupid one problem is it's been up for sale for awhile maybe someone he knew or showed it to. 2 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
A stupid one problem is it's been up for sale for awhile maybe someone he knew or showed it to. THIS!!!! 1 Quote Link to comment
HRH
I really hope they find it. Having an RB is a really good reason for chop shops to want it. That's that bad news. Hopefully someone in the Datsun community will recognize it and find it before it gets too far. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Yikes! If it was near here I would have thought about taking it. Cool car. Hoping he gets it back, fully intact! Quote Link to comment
q-tip
And if not I hope whoever took its is no longer fully intact 4 Quote Link to comment
shacks510
This definitely wasn't a random theft. I'll keep my eyes peeled down here. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Assume that the thief may also scan Ratsun forums for info they can use to stay hidden. Just sayin'.... 1 Quote Link to comment
hosestop@msn.com
That car was for sale maybe somebody looked at it, came back and stole it ! I may start writing license numbers down and keep if car forsale , or meet at a supermarket parking lot .This car is rare ! 2 Quote Link to comment
mrmark
Always meet in a neutral location AWAY from your house! I always make sure they don't follow me either, but I may be on the slightly paranoid side of life! Quote Link to comment
fritzdixxon
I've known people that would cut keys on a test drives. Before heading back to jack the car they would break a window somewhere else and take the glass with them pour it on the ground so that it looked like they broke a window to get in. There have also been people that when trying to sell acar for awhile will stage a theft, as long as the car is found beat to shit broken and ditched they would get the insurance money. datzenmike
Only a moron would let someone take the car (with keys) for a test ride. If I was ever selling, I would do the driving or they could fuck right off. It should have had a kill switch.... even easier on a EFI vehicle. The more complicated, the easier to disable it. 1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
It only takes one wire Quote Link to comment
datson4life
Saw it on instagram, sounds like they found it with a blown engine.....all bad Quote Link to comment
q-tip
A blown engine is better than a stripped car, getting it back complete is one of the better outcomes Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
Yes the car was recovered as said blown engine nothing looks taken which is way too suspicious for a regular thief It had to be someone he knew. Just read Ray (owner) said there was a witness 2 dark skinned makes he said he might know who it was. It was found in 400 block of Palm Ave in Seaside, Ca. 1 Quote Link to comment

HRH
Glad to see the Maxima is back! Especially such a nice-looking wagon. Bummer the engine is blown, but that's a lot better than a car in a ditch or down an embankment. 2 Quote Link to comment
