datzenmike
Of the two color choices, I have to go with the Purple. It will work best if there is some black involved, perhaps a flat black hood? A side stripe? (not sure about the BRE ones) Blacked out grill? Nice try but not really close enough to plum purple. It's more... mauve. Quote Link to comment
Figbuck
The purple says hot rod. My feeling is to go with all purple you would have to murder it in purple to pull off that much purple. It's working on that car because the graphics break it up for more of a 2 tone. The Nissan blue is really nice. Blue is my favorite color. Blues are tricky because it's a cold color and gets it gets old fast. I wouldn't paint my house blue... but I did my Datsun. Are you going to go base/clear coat? Can your guys spot repair the metalic when it gets in a bender? I have been tripping on spring flowers since I was a kid. Our next door nieghbor"s was named Rodney... right?... Rod, what a perfect name. So, my Mom and his Mom were into gardening big time. Rod's friends were always hanging out in the driveway and poking around under hoods in the street. Rod entered his '55 Chevy pickup in the 1960 Oakland Roadster Show. He and his pals were working on a '56 Crown Vic that was photographed in Carcraft Magazine when it was done. One day some guys were picking flowers and talking about paint schemes for the Vic. They had noticed how weird "dissonant" colors by them selves worked in combinations to create cool "Harmonious" color schemes. I was in California a couple days ago and the wildflowers were popping off in this field next to where i was staying for a month. Every few days another different flower would bloom and it was mind blowing all the "Hot Rod" color combinations. I shot a hundred images of flowers, but haven't got to upload... I'll see if i can get to it for you. There was a purple flower kind of the colors of a Bird of Paradise... Orange and Blue in it too. I'm looking forward to the next months of hotrod flowers blooming here in Oregun. My vote is the blue, but you should think about trim/accent colors could work with it too. Good luck man, pleased to see your effort. Quote Link to comment
