WTB: 10 inch wide wheels

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm looking for a set of alloy rims to fill in the 280YZ quarters and Subtle Z front fenders I just bought.

15's, 16's, 17's.

10 inch or 9.5's in rear, 8" wide in front, @ 4 or 4.5 backspacing.

Hoping some Datsun guys might know of a set.

I'm in the S.F. Bay area (94544)

Pics and replies to:

agentc73@hotmail.com

THANKS!

Rota RB-R 17x8.5 front, 17x9.5 rear, all with negative offset and under a grand for a set of four shipped.

Pages 42-47 have good pics...

You do need the ZG flares to cover these

Also 15 or 17 are better for the tire selection. Really wide low profile tires for 16's do NOT exist! (except for racing slicks) 285/40/16 ... just doesn't exist. 245/45/16 is the widest lowest profile tire you can really get for 16's and that's a huge stretch for 9.5 wide.

17s have pretty much any size you can think of.

I don't know if that guy at Rota doesn't care about the sale, or is just plain retarded.

I have offered to pay up front large quantities of cash to custom order the wheels, asked them if he had them in stock, and how much they are.

I realize he must be busy, but his broken F*#@n' Engrish 1/2 sentence replies, and after 5 emails, I still don't know if I need to order them, or if he has them in.

I even have tried to patiently re-phrase SIMPLE SALES questions in different ways to get a clear answer.

The bitch is I work 2 blocks away from the shop, and have been too busy to stop in. At this point, I dunno if I would even have any questions answered if I took the time and effort.

Jeezus.

If you read through the Hybridz thread you'll see there are a few communication issues.

You may also want to call up 18racing.com Jessica answers the phone. She is asian but easy to talk to. I didn't order those large ones but I did custom order some 16x8. Tell her exactly what you want and maybe they can get them too for a similar price.

diameter, width, bolt pattern, RB-R style, center color, either polished or colored lip, and offset.

Hey Bro, I appreciate your help.

I was banned from HybridZ. The admin hypocritically poke and prodded and flamed me in an ad I was running looking for a non-insert head(N42), and then got uber pissed when I told another one of 'em the over-hyped, over-weight skyline boat anchor motor he was dropping in his kid's Z needed more that a 2 row radiator. Ef 'im. Let him blow it up.

For the record, I am not prejudiced in any shape or form, towards ANYONE, but stupid cattle, and self-righteous hypocrites, BTW.

I wish I could marry a good asian woman. Someone with some freakin' HONOR.

Anyways, Jessica already told me they can't/won't get them in. Not 100% sure which one it was, but a "no joy" with her company.

Custom ordered? I thought the 16x8 RB's were a normally stocked item.

Anyways, thanks for the help.

And the update is; I found a NICE, CHERRY, rust free 1971 Chassis.

DELIVERED to my door for a grand.

She will be a GREAT place to put those fenders and quarters...

At least after I get rid of the metallic sh*t brown:D

Hey Bleach. Could I see some pics of your Z('s)?:)

Oh.

I can't wait to see the pics of 'em on your Z.

Over at HybridZ, it was agentc73.

I wouldn't even bother dude,

if you were gunna try to help me get back there.

They pissed me off so bad, too many times,

I got rather "eloquent" on a few of 'em.

One of them labled me, and I quote letter for letter, "to stupid to be here".

Which is hilarious, as I am a pilot,

and working on my own design of airplane,

that will completely shatter current MPG/speed/range ratios.

Aerodynamical/fluid dynamical equations are par for the course.

Like I said, IMHO, self righteous, hypocritical website Nazis.

Granted, at the very best Z site...

We even had an admin (not the one who banned you) come over to Zdriver.com to stir up trouble. He is very controlling and has a temper. I was curious if it was the same person. Seems all those admins have issues with control. the arrogance is rediculous.

Nice rims, bleach, but not wide enough, I think, for the rears.

The widebody kit makes the quarters 6 inches wider than stock, total.

I wrote that cat about the steelies. but for what he wants, I could buy Rota alloys, and they would look much better.

I appreciate everyone tryin' to hook a guy up!

Thanx for showin' the love!

:D

Yeah, the arrogance IS ridiculous.

I even quoted a Ford book on terminology(semi-quench),

and they went ON about that, as it wasn't a word THEY used,

and there was no such thing.

Ignorant F%#@ers...

Oh. Anything larger in diameter than 17's make a Z

look like the Wells Fargo stagecoach.

However popular that look gets, I still know it to be tacky, gaudy and stupid.

I can't wait till this fad passes,

so I won't have such overwhelmingly blatant idiocy smeared in my face anymore.

BTW, do any of these idiots know what rotational mass is?

Or how about sprung/unsprung weight?

Dumb f^@s...

Bleach,

the copper Z with the white wheels looks perfect!

Offset, everything!

My fronts are 1.5 inches wider than stock per side,

and the rears 3 inches wider.

Like I said, that set up looks PERFECT!

Are these 8.5's on the front?

Or are those 9's?

Any info?

I've been poking @ the Toyota site, and they try to gouge a MoFo big time.

a lot of the guys are asking new prices, with curb rash and junk tires!

yikes!

I guess I wont tell you about the 18's I ran on a 280ZX before...

I ordered some 16's though to make up for it. ...average of 17"

Those pictures I got from the Hybridz thread. Check out those pages I listed above and you'll see them. The person who posted them might mention what they are. I assume they are 8.5 front and 9.5 rear as the group buy is offering.

Negative offset on both F&R though.

A local guy here in Hayward is offering me his,

but he's asking what Summit Racing wants for their brand of Centerline knockoffs, new.

Yeah, I'd have to slot the lug holes as well.

But no curb rash, ect.

Couple of dings on yours as well.

Shipping would kill me:eek:

What did you need for 'em?

How about getting exactly what you want and only having to spend a million or two: http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/prices.html

If I wanted to do that, I'd go here, and let the toyota guys rip me off for some over hyped JDM shyt.

http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=35179

Looks like they do that to each other on a regular basis.

One fool has 2(not 4) 15 inch JDM wheels, and wants 1300 bucks.

On a toyota celica forum.

If I had that to spend on rims, I'd be havin' some full custom wheels made from Kodiak or CCW...

But that's just me, and my logic.

Sold this morning.

Sounded perfect.

Ends up I couldn't buy those racing Mags I wanted.

Had the cash, and had the deal, time and place set.

I thought I could flip the rings.

Nope.

AND, I need like 3 inch + studs.

NOPE...

Those Rota RB-R's sound better and better.
