If you're unfamiliar with my build check out the original build thread that started February 18th 2009.

Sadly, life got in the way of this build. Work, girlfriend (now fiancé), other driving cars, bills, etc, all took priority over my Datsun. But, I've started to work on it again.

A good friend of mine and I were able to pull it out of its 2 year hiding spot and push it about 1/2 mile to his garage where the idea process and work began.

My friend was it awe of how small it was. Plenty of room to work.

Tonight we were able to get the truck back down to frame so we can fix some of my early mistakes and remove all the surface rust.

This isn't going to be an overnight build. I want my Datsun to be well thought out and reliable so updates may be far between but I promise this time, I am making progress.

Had to cut 1" out of the lower bag plates and while I was at it, slid them forward for shock clearance.

Hopefully I'll be working on it again soon.

Great project  I like your setup.  Should not be long now.

Years ago I mounted a tank similar to how you are doing this one.  Long story short I had tank problems and needed to pull the tank.  No problem after I pulled the bed.  I re did the tank mounting so I could pull the tank without removing my bed first.

I shouldn't have that problem. The frame has been Z'd 4" so the entire bed floor needs to be cut out. I'm thinking about using weathered wood as a bed cover and putting it on hinges so I can work on the rear suspension, valves, compressor, etc anytime I find I need to.

It's been a while.

Was able to complete the frame notch and bag mounts on one front corner over the last couple nights. Still trying to figure out shock mounting on all 4 corners. I have the brackets, just working on the geometry.
