banzai510(hainz)
higher advance might be better for performance wise but sounds good Glasspack/ weber DGV = 18-20 yrs old kid "bumblebee in a can" sounding FAST. If you want that glasspack to really sound TUFF. get 44mm Mikunis. But car is running good to me 1 Quote Link to comment

That4doorKiD
Tranny out waiting for new bearing in the mail, and took off the old one. I had the wrong one on there anyways had the 5speed one. Had to take off the mani's again Ditched the straight through double pipe exhaust due to fitment problems, will finish with a plain pipe later on PLus.. the half shaft axel stub was hitting my piping Quote Link to comment
That4doorKiD
Will fix my exhaust leak with notched washers cause intake thicker than exhaust Quote Link to comment
505plus5
Nice work, overall! Quote Link to comment
shacks510
Looks good I would suggest getting a factory cast iron exhaust manifold; the kind without the emissions tubes. Cast iron will last forever. Headers eventually get leaks and fall apart. You might find one cheap at the swapmeet. Think you'll have it driving by then? Maybe we could both make that deadline  1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
if that is the 1/4 in think ,manifolt then it needs the notched washers and most are lost be now. The newer Trimill headser have a spacer welded to the manifold so you can use the standard Nissan washer. Personally throw that away and run the stock exhaust non emission manifold with the Y collector to a 2in pipe will be a longer lasting set up. I would only use the lastist trimill header to get rid of the L20 exhaust manifold as its a cleaner set up if no stock 510/521 manifolds are around. plus those fucking rust out bad looking like shit in 3 months. Unless you ceramic coat it for about 100$ leak also. dont waist you time on this. Trust me. youll think of me when this goes bad later. But your mind is made up and going to use it . I know !!!!!!!!!! 1 Quote Link to comment

That4doorKiD
Had to pull out my tranny and put the 4 speed bearing WHICH WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS :sneaky: Then stripped a stupid stud, so I had to drill a 11/32 hole and tap 10mm x 1.50 threads and using a bolt for now, will eventually use a step stud. finally put it back on and headers, intake etc... and today started my car back up. BUT NOW THE STUPID SLAVE PUSHES THE FORK TOO MUCH. Hopefully i'll put on an adjustable driver from original 510 nd problem solved  Quote Link to comment
That4doorKiD
Video of my car 30 inch GLassPack and headers http://vid1293.photobucket.com/albums/b600/h7030/20151031_213745_zps52prtdmt.mp4 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Use a grinder, shorten the rod on the slave. If too short, add weld, grind smooth. Quote Link to comment
That4doorKiD
fixed the clutch slave issue BAHASJAHSGA ghetto  but it works,I feel accomplished when I improvise, but not finished if it's not the right way Old oil pressure switch was leaking so bought new 1. Test drove my cool datsun only in to 2ng gear on my block because I clogged the carburetor using no fuel filter and damn thing started bogging. You guys like my little beater ehh? I know camera quality sucks sorry I'm cheap and got a galaxy still. Since the carb was bogging down and I clogged it I attempted half-way to rebuild it, and that night me and my Dad were looking for the rebuild kit, we ran in to an old 32/36 that was already rebuilt, HOW IRONIC  So I ended up slapping that rebuilt one on and put the dirty one back together. Wayy cleaner than what it looks like in the picture. It's my camera quality I tell yuh. I was happy that when I was reving the carb had quick throttle response to the motor! I was relieved. And my journey continues with a leaking Master Cylinder, and me adjusting the valves yesterday and making it sound uglier lol have to re do that This week I'll be putting in my amp and 3 channel speaker system + two subwoofer + sub amp + and my eBay Headunit! shacks510
I like the way your car looks. There's something that I like about 510s barely lowered with 13"s. Reminds me of my dad's old four door. 1 Quote Link to comment

Draker
Love it! I have a return spring on my clutch fork too. It's OE. Your spring... looks a little weak... lol As long as it works though.. 1 Quote Link to comment
That4doorKiD
Thanks and my spring is weak yeah  the slave+fork only has like less than 1/2 inch of movement Quote Link to comment
That4doorKiD
Adjusted the valves and one was too high...not enough clearance on the gap. It didn't even let me adjust the gap!! I looked on the nut and it was intentionally chipped??? Someone had the problem and didn't fix it, so my Dad checked it out. I grinded the nut to let the valve and lobe have more clearance, worked and motor runs good now. Look at the middle valve, and the adjuster nut. Took off that one and grinded it down. What a mystery i don't know why it had different clearence than the others? This bracket almost was a bolt on to the 68's defroster doors' brackets, I just used some huge washers to grab one side of the edges brackets. Then I zip tied the face holder frame thingy really tight and worked really good! I spent like an hour making some wood bar to srcew it on to but i drilled some holes crooked and in the end didn't work. This was my first stereo job and learned from online research basically. But it kicks ass! Got two mid range/tweeters and two giant subwoofers in my trunk powered by a sony amp. And yes I have fusible links in my power wire  Sorry my pictures really suck. Put clean gas tank in, spare tire, and board thing with plywood to reinforce the board Everything hidden like my wires and amp. I HID THOSE RCA CABLES. 2 DAY OLD PIC*** 2 Quote Link to comment
