Stance setup: what do you run?

Recommended Posts

We have a couple different pic threads and I'm gonna start a new one. Partly because I'm still "designing" in my head and partly because I see the question ALL the time throughout the forum.

So, post up pics of your ride and specs for your tire/wheel combo and drop (or lift) along with any other detail you want to give.

Ready, Go!

EDIT:  185/75/14 stock height I believe.

This might take a while to list everything I have done, and I want all to listen when I say, DO THIS SHIT AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!

I is hard to know where to start, I have a 1966 Datsun 520 that I bought several years ago now, this is what it looked like the day I picked it up, I dropped the body on a 1986 Nissan 720 kingcab frame.

I guess one of the first things I did was to make a set of drop arms.

And then I installed them.

DSCN0224.JPG

The tension rod you see was removed and installed towards the rear.

DSCN1687.JPG

I cut all the front tension rod hardware off.

DSCN3466.JPG

I also cut the stock lower shock mounts off and installed Roadster front shocks.

In this photo you can see I have the stock upper shock mounts, and that I flipped the upper control arms over, that is the left UCA upside down on the right side.

DSCN0345.JPG

Here is what the UCA looks like when the LCA is bottomed out.

DSCN0348.JPG

I cut the stock carrier bearing cross member out and made one that did not hang down, I also had to re-engineer the e-brake cable mount.

DSCN1337.JPG

I notched the rear frame.

DSCN1701.JPG

I cut the 720 frame front leaf mounts off and installed 520 front leaf mounts.

DSCN1560.JPG

I cut off the stock rear leaf mounts, and installed roadster leaf mounts, I also used stock 720 4X4 leafs.

DSCN2121.JPG

I removed the stock shock mount plates and installed 510 wagon shock mount plates, which also holds the axle in position, at that time I also put in 2 inch lowering blocks.

DSCN2208.JPG

This is how it sits today on stock 1979 Datsun 620 disc brake rims with P165/65R14 tires.

This was a lot of work, I also thought everything out ahead of time, it is not just thrown together.
