Littlewass
OK, I am restoring a 1973 1200 coup to new. Have found almost every part I need as either NOS, salvage, or good quality reproduction except one. . .those Front wing/vent window gasket/seals! (You know, those triangle shaped windows on the front doors that pivot opened). I have everything except the gasket/seals. . . I have found them for every other freekin model they ever made but not the coup. So, here is my question. Can you buy ones for another 1200 body style like the sedan or truck and modify them? Can you get them from another model car and modify? does anyone have any ideas or know if they are being reproduced or available? Thanks,Marc Quote Link to comment

Morrisun
Have you contacted: spectrumrubber.com? They list as Wing Window, part# 221.101 Datsun 1200 Coupe Fr LH do they have them? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The gasket seal around the wing window for the coupe and the sedan are different part numbers and so is the glass so it must ne slightly different shape, but for the life of me I can't 'see' the difference. Coupe may have a lower roof line? I guess if you can get a pair cheap try them. If too big you can trim and 'glue' them together. BTW the parts are RH 80282-H1800 LH 80283-H1800... both under $20 each if you find them. Quote Link to comment
graveltrapp
I believe the Coupe roof is approximately 1" lower than the Sedan thereby requiring different doors, glass, and windshield components. I have read of folks cutting the Sedan rubbers down to fit a coupe.? Try scouting around on the 1200 forum as all of this has been covered there for sure. Let us know what you find out. Mattndew76
There is a huge market for weather rubber here in the states for old Jap Tin. Yet it seems to be unobtainium still. Look over seas. They have it all. Quote Link to comment
paradime
It's interesting Matt, the standard 510 rear quarter seals are astronomical too. You can find windshield rubber fir $140, but the 1/4s are $850 a pair. WTF? Seems like there's a buxk to be made there. Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
Yes there is. Just takes the foot work and research. I think this could be a few $$ in a pocket. Look through these for similar stuff. www.kiderubber.com Quote Link to comment
KELMO
FWIW the coupe and sedan/truck are different. Mike has the right Part #'s (might end in H1801 also). You may be able to get some for a sedan still but would have to modify them. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Have you asked datsport? http://www.datsport.com/rubber-menu.html I've heard nothing but good things about their stuff, and the prices are reasonable. Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
I got my ute ones from maddat, might be worth asking if they have coupe ones in stock. If not maybe you need to contact nissan and have them source some from Japan. Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
Also try the Canadian shop www.new-datsun-parts.com Quote Link to comment

KELMO
New-Datsun-parts.com only lists ute & sedan vent rubbers if I remember correctly. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
New-Datsun-parts.com only lists ute & sedan vent rubbers Everyone does. They are the same part, and since the ute was produced for 30+ years in some markets, they are easy to come by. But us Coupe owners get left out in the cold... Quote Link to comment
Burabuda
ugh that new-datsun parts guy.... shudder to think all the guys who could be ordering the same parts from the dealer at a fraction of the cost 1 Quote Link to comment
KELMO
I always check dealer availability first....it helps to have friends in low places. Quote Link to comment
