I liken it to porn, most of it is worth watching but you have to put up with the appearance of a big dick here and there. As far as newbs leaving from being flamed, they need a midol(I hear it makes pussies feel better). Most of the time I've seen good things happening. Occasionally I've seen some pretty harsh reactions to "stupid questions" The Forum expects the new folks to abide by certain rules and read up on the f.a.q. So why is it acceptable for advanced members to flame newcomer's questions they feel are stupid? Look at it from the perspective of a newcomer. Asking a question is risky on the internet because it is so easy for someone to be a total dick. This is certainly not something that only this forum deals with. They all deal with it. Maybe asking yourself, "Is this comment going to help this person?" Before you respond to a question. Everyone has learned the knowledge they have over time. Expecting others to be as savvy as a datsun veteran off the bat is not realistic. The best way to keep datsuns on the road is to keep owners wanting to repair them. This forum has some of the best knowledge and teachers about datsuns on the internet imo. It's a shame to turn away any new members because of abrasive interactions over "stupid questions". 1 Link to comment
