ArchetypeDatsun
So I went and saw this 510 today after a family friend told me about it. We went in his break from work, it's been sitting for 20 years and the thing that got me it had a A12 engine in it. He told me it's a 72 and has a passenger side glass missing not broken just missing. What would you guys pay for something like this he asked me help sell it honestly it's pretty straight I don't know about the floors but all the interior is there the tail lights are inside as well as the driveshaft. yellowdatsun
How bad is the rust on the roof? Is the roof bent down the center? It's a really odd rust pattern, that looks serious in the middle. This will make a huge difference in price. If the roof is bad and needs replacement, the car isn't worth much at all, because replacing it is serious work. If the roof is ok, the car is probably worth $800 tops. That's a really odd swap for an engine. Probably done when the car was much younger. 1 Quote Link to comment

The roof wasn't sunk it, I actually touched the roof felt sturdy still it seems like just surface rust, I couldn't take a better look inside but I do want to go back and really look it over better. Yeah the older guy that lives there has a lot of cars obvious hoarder but he isn't attached to this car he said some old lady drove it, his story seemed weird and wondered about the engine he said it came off the yellow car across from it which was a B210. Here in southern oregon cars don't rust as bad but I can tell this one was sitting for as long as the guy told me. The car looked like it probably was in good shape at one point. ArchetypeDatsun
Pre '77 B-210 engine swap. Thanks mike I'm not too familiar with the A series engines but I can tell what they are at first glance. Quote Link to comment
graveltrapp
$3-400 tops, no glass for 10 plus years will most certainly mean that floor boards are shot, pull the carpet back or try to get under the car and look at the frame rails. No hood would mean the fuse block, brake and clutch masters have been soaking in both rain and UV light neither of which they were designed for. No taillight lenses means lots of corrosion in electrical system. I do like the color, just not the odds of gremlin free years to come. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
I wanna look more into it. Sucks it doesn't have the hood I don't know how long it's had it off. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Inm thinking if he wants it gone so bad 100$ would be a good price.NO TITLE walk away car looks straight but would take soem $$$ to get running and all the wiring cked out since its water soaked. At least the engine bay stuff. Cool color and would roll it with the rust Quote Link to comment
Nuclear Water Boy
Ya $100 TOPS!!!! Then depending on rust and if your not willing to fix it you could always part it out piece by piece by piece. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
I hope he has the title honestly I like it and would buy it if I had the extra money and space. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
That's a $2500 car down here. Good patina to make an old skool cruiser. Too bad the hood is missing. Quote Link to comment

Where is this thing located? Is it a manual or Autotragic? Originally it was a 4 speed, you can see the clutch master... but with an engine swap it could be anything now. Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
Yeah who cares what it has now for a trans, but would like to know if it still has the manual pedals. Those are getting harder to find. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Again looks like it does in one of the pictures. Looks like a wide automatic pedal overshadowing the gas but to the left you can see a smaller one. Small pedals were only used on standards. Quote Link to comment
