VFR800 Posted January 20, 2019 Report Share Posted January 20, 2019 The composite consisted of a Short S-20 float plate "Mercury" attached to a Short S-21 Empire flying boat "Maia" Extending flying range was the aim in 1938, but only this one combination saw use. The Short S-26 Empire flying boat had a longer range ending the need for the piggyback setup. 2 Quote Link to comment
