scooter
So, I had a brainwave that if I removed the strut tube off my knuckles, that I could lathe or mill the spindle pin off, and then press in a pinto style spindle pin. The reason for doing this is there's a huge amount of options that come on this spindle including some badass mini stock brakes that fit in a 13 inch rim. I have not cut a datsun strut apart or even examined it to see if it would work. What do you guys think of that idea? 280zx struts are getting hard to find. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Press in??? (scary) The stock tube is welded to the spindle. To lower you could still shorten the 200sx strut tube. Bigger brakes could be a problem but the zx hub should fit or try fitting a zx vented rotor to the stock hub. Then find a way to fit a larger caliper. You may be limiting yourself with 13" rims. q-tip
That could work, I would definitely weld the spindle into to hub after it was pressed in. If you have the machining ability and the welding ability anything is possible. Quote Link to comment
