It might be grossly over simplifying things, but in terms of world views, at their core conservatives are driven to defend against what might be around the corner, and liberals are driven to discover what might be around the corner. Both lib and con value systems suffer from cognitive dissonance. Marin County is one of the most liberal places on the plant, but has less community public health services than the deepest blue bible belt counties. It's all about the not in my perfectly PC indigenous low moisture landscaped back yard way of thinking. Let's face it, both extremes are rife with hypocrisy.

You're absolutely right Train, but the government waaAAaas funded through tariffs AKA taxes levied on foreign producers, who then just passed that cost onto the consumer. Also the government got over 40% of it's funding from sales tax on liquor alone. In fact, income tax came about from prohibitionists who used it to cover the loss of revenue from booze. So your point of calling RVD a "safe distance from genius" is a pile of shit that now sits in your lap.

Nahhh,I post, therefore I'm right.

The word liberal is so misused in today's brain fart Internet challenges. It means to beleave in liberty, freedom. The Bill of Rights is liberal.

Today's neo nazis bankers call themselves liberals, because they beleave in free trade.

He turned against us cause we kinda bailed. You support some faction in a "proxy" war for no ones benefit but your own and then they figure that out after you up and leave they may have a problem with that....boom extremism.

Yes, and that's what some call "the fine line between" in this case...freedom fighter and terrorists.

That only depends on which side of the line you're on, a terrorist thinks he's a freedom fighter and a freedom fighter thinks the other guy is a terrorist.

Yep...or divide and conquer...like our govt did w the indians and a lot of times its not just oil. It could be resources like gold, silver, water and land. Boils down to the " golden rule", he who has the gold rules. Thats why i like that song by tears for fears, everyone wants to rule the world.
