mahi2010bv
So went to the mechanic (again, seems she doesn't want to give me a break) cause I smelled tranny oil which I have been religiously checking and today for some reason it was low. Mechanic says i busted the housing of the speed sensor. I know it's a 81 and there isn't a speed sensor, but he told me it's a mechanical one. Now I live in puerto rico and called all the junkyards in my area and nothing. Went to a speciality shop for nissans and what they had was the pinion but no housing. Anyone know where I can get this rare part? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The pinion is the plastic gear (usually colored for the number of teeth it has, BLACK would be 17 tooth) that is driven off the transmission mainshaft. The round part, with the O ring oil seal that the speedometer cable screws onto, is called the pinion sleeve. datzenmike
It's called the Nissan Motor Company. You can use the numbers to cross reference to another supplier, maybe? 1 Quote Link to comment
