found this site while looking for some information. I have 2 720 pickups an 82 kingcab 2.2 5 speed and a 84 regular cab 2.4 5 speed. I just retired the 82 due to lots of front end work needed and want to swap options to the 84. Will post pics some time soon. The 84 has air but no sliding glass, cigerette lighter, intermitant wipers, tach and lots other i would like to keep. I just got some head work done to the 84 and was wondering if the 2.2 would fit in easily if the 2.4 does not hold up.

thanks

The '84 has a lot nicer dash and extra creature comforts go with it. The front suspension is much revised in the '84 and has vented disc brakes and larger calipers and m/c than the '82, which has the same brakes as the '78 620. The Z24 has more torque.

The motor will swap no prob. Keep the rad if in good shape and the 2.2 5spd as a spare. The box and hood will not swap but maybe the doors and front fenders?? will.

Got pix of the '84?? Does it have p/s?

To me they look to be the same body style. I do not have pictures of the 84 yet even though i have had it a few months but not driving til last week. This weekend i should take some pictures of it. I hope to not beat it up hauling scrap like a did the 82 but it was bad off when i got it. I do not understand why the 84 needed head work this early in its life. Only 115k miles on the motor but lots of time behind a rv. My 82 has a weber dgav series carb if i can find an element for the after market filter housing i may swap on the 84 because the 2.2 with it feels like a lot more power. The 82 king cab has 176k but the body and suspension is shot. The motor runs great and tranny just needs a rear seal. The 84 has no options other than ac so no power steering, clock or tach in the dash like the 82. not even a cigerette lighter. I did get a camper with the 84 though.

The '82 had horizontal tail lights the '84 were vertical in the box corners. The hoods were different too.

The '84 also came with clock and tach. Here's my '85 4X4 dash:http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q251/datzenmike/620stuff003Large.jpg[/img]"]620stuff003Large.jpg

The Weber may fit the Z24 without an adapter because the Z24 has a wider bolt pattern than the Z22. 720 rave about the extra power and torque from the Weber. If you ever pull a Z24 carb apart you'll see why... the primary is small, a bigger engine should have a bigger carb.

The dash of the 82 is not that different of a shape than the 84 but the 84 does look more like the 85 minus the tach and clock which is on the 82

Oh and a another quick question. The handle on the tail gate is broke and every one i see is. Where can i get a replacement at. Notice the picture of the end gate missing the handle. Even on hardbody nissans this is still something that breaks.

Man that brings back memories for me. I built and showed a 86 720 with the Z24 engine, back in the early 90s, Loved that truck. I drove it for about 2 yrs before I even did anything to it. Then I sold my other show truck and did some custom work to it. Drove it for about anothe 2 yrs then sold it to fund another truck. Great truck never had issue one with it. Best of luck on your new task at hand and keep us all posted.

I have bought a few things from there, and they were all decent parts.

I have bought, the plastic inside door handle pieces, hinges for the doors, and more to come later. They were decent quality and i think they will last some time. They have a buncha different parts on there, including a lower valance for those 720's. I will be ordering one soon. I even ordered a rear view mirror for my 90' sentra.
