Nidraclark
Hello everyone, picked up a 620 yesterday and after pressure washing all the moss off and cleaning the the inside I found some rough spots. Does this look like something that could be patched/removed or cab swap? Thanks Quote Link to comment
orangie
It really depends on what your time is worth to you. All of those are "patchable", but cutting out and replacing panels are much faster than fabricaticing custom pieces and fitting them in. Replacing the cab is the fastest, but probably those most expensive, assuming you can find a good one nearby. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Just drive it. It has a full frame that keeps the engine and wheels on the road. 1 Quote Link to comment
mcordero8
Cut out and replace the holes and the heavy stuff, and then POR-15 the rest. That's what I did. Check out my build thread.http://community.ratsun.net/topic/59781-my-1973-datsun-620-build-back-again/page-2 Quote Link to comment
HOGIE
If you want to replace it, I have a parts cab. Check this out http://community.ratsun.net/classifieds/item/4069-620-kc-cab-sheet-metal-parts/ Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Nice '79. Is that a Cab/Chassis dual wheel axle? Quote Link to comment
Nidraclark
Thanks. It is the EHL620 Cab-Chasis, has deep wheels with two tires on them in the rear, and the same or similar steel stake bed as shown below. I have not seem one image online of this setup; where many made? Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Cab swap. You will save so much time. Quote Link to comment
BenJammin
It depends. -Why did you buy the truck? -What is your goal for the truck ? -Do you just want it functional or show-worthy ? Quote Link to comment
Nidraclark
Truck will be used as a light farm truck/daily driver, but I also want it to look nice not show quality at all but like time has been put in. I think for now I am going to focus on making the truck as mechanically sound as possible while exploring cab swap options for down the road. On an unrelated topic... I know this has been probably been answered but I am already sick of the mile of smog related hoses in the engine bay(Half of which have been disconnected). Can anyone confirm that you can pass smog with most the emissions stuff removed; location is oregon? Quote Link to comment
