Tristin
This is my car. And i was askin i guess if my car was a gl. Nope, looks like a base model. I dont even think GLs went to Canada. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
GL is Grand Luxury American 510s were Standard or Deluxe. It was marketed as an economy car, so none if the expensive ones were brought over. Quote Link to comment

jimmy billy
I agree with tendril. Ok so i got a basic 10. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The early '68s (Canada got them, I had one) had amber rear turn signals. US didn't. I think there was something different about the Canadian '68 or '69 dash pad also. Have to ask the 510 Realm. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
US didn't allow amber until Jan 1968, so they started with all-red and kept them that way. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
explain what makes a bluebird a bluebird... The most basic, universal answer: if it was originally sold with "Bluebird" badges, that made it a Bluebird. Datsun 411 Bluebird Quote Link to comment
Tristin
I think there was something different about the Canadian '68 or '69 dash pad also. Have to ask the 510 Realm. Its the dip in the center of the dash above the radio. Canada was always flat where US has a dip in 68 and flat in 69. 1 Quote Link to comment

danfiveten
Not all 68 american cars had the dip in the dash, my dads doesnt, and we know the original owner, it was never changed out, but its vin 000370 so a super low vin. Quote Link to comment

Bluebird: JDM "10" series car example; 410/411, 510, 610, 710, etc. 710 is not a Bluebird, its a Stanza. Which is the reason why 610s and 710s were sold concurrently. 110,210/211,310/311/312,410/411,510,610,810,910 (maximas vary with their longer nose). Stanza: 710,A10... Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
Noticed I stopped listing cars after about '82? Because that is where the scope of this forum lays. Also, just because the 110 wasnt badged a Bluebird, doesnt mean its not, its more likely the name haden't surfaced yet, but clearly the 110 is part of the same line. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yet that's the only thing making it a Bluebird - the badging. Without that its just a 510 or whatever. The Datsun line that the Bluebirds are part of clearly started with the Type 10 of 1932. The creation of companion models started in the 1960s - before that there was only the "Datsun" - no Fairlady, Sunny, Silvia, etc. Quote Link to comment

Rasp933
How do u tell if a 610 os a triple s? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
You can tell if a 610 is an SSS by the "SSS" badges. A more interesting question is how to tell if it is a clone. For one thing, if it's LHD, it's not a 180B SSS nor is it a Bluebird-U SSS. Quote Link to comment
