Duncan
Ah, I took the 1200 for a little spin today after putting on the new Toyos. I replaced four 195/60/13's with 195/45/14's. The car rides better and MUCH quieter. The Toyos are a unidirectional tire and the steering seems a bit more sensitive, and I (seemingly) had to pay a bit more attention to steering it down the freeway. A little steering correction caused the car to respond much quicker than the old tires. Also, the car steers MUCH easier at slower speeds. I do want to lower the car about 2" or so in back, and maybe 1"-1.5" in the front. It's at the stock ride height currently, and it's too high! I'm working on it... Quote Link to comment
Guest jaimesix
Duncan. As rule of thumb, adding positive "Caster" restores weight to the steering. The lighter the car, the higher the caster ( positive ). If you were having hard steering ( as in wide tires , like GT class racing ), less Caster lightens the steering . When lowering your 1200, add some caster. Jaime._______________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment
