datzenmike
My FJ20ET Any chance of some pictures of the tranny? That one is a B type not used here after '86.5 Wondering if the bell bolt pattern is the same as the SR or the KA or different from both. Quote Link to comment

Also, I need an oil pan, fuel rail and exhaust mani (turbo or non turbo) if anyone has a spare. I have a NA Manifold, and a cad plated fuel rail for the DR30 intake, I'll part with the powder-coated intake too..... if you want to bail on the "mickeysquirt" ....as it is not compatible with any Nissan CAS/ignition.... I have a JDM DR30 ECU with a HKS piggyback and complete harness and AFM. The oilpan is no longer available new... do you have a damaged original that can be fixed?? If not, I have a spare with the bottom caved in.....and I have a bunch of gaskets, cap, rotor and some timing chain stuff DatzenMike; the tranny is basically the same bell housing as the Z series and the KA, and RB will also bolt up.... the L series also fits but (as you already know) sits at an angle if you mount the FJ engine at its correct angle like a Z... and the OE FJ trannies are all "B" series boxes, (AFAIK) as the FJ ended production about when the "C" series boxes came out Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
Im actually running a ford edis setup on mine. It consists of a ford escort trigger wheel and vr sensor and edis4 module, and gm coolant and air intake temp sensors. If I cant get it running right on this setup im for sure interested in your ecu and harness. Quote Link to comment
The Stig
Ah yes.... the guy who bought my other FJ is planing on going megasquirt with wasted spark too, which should work ok if you can get the trigger setup to work, I assume you are going turbo then...I was originally going to go turbo and considered MS....... but then got all the OE bits...but now going NA ITB's with Halltech F6, as megasquirt is not ideal for NA with ITB's let me know if your looking for gaskets Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
Im actually staying na. But with plans to boost in the near future. I got the trigger wheel and vr sensor all done. Were are you located "the stig"? Quote Link to comment
The Stig
I'm in south western British Columbia just outside Vancouver, near the border...Do you know what your FJ came out of?? Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
I have no idea. Is there a way to identify it? I can post pix. Quote Link to comment
The Stig
Yes..they can be identified as to the source car as Skylines and Silvias have different manifolds, the cam cover design will separate the age to early/late, and if the motor is not JDM the EFI parts on the intake can tell us that. If you can post pix I can apply the above...I will post some of my own pix as soon as I can figure out how to resize/reformat and get my website to host them safely. Quote Link to comment

2doorTurd
The stig does have a 120Y..... and it beats the crappy out of most of the rigs he's setting an example for.... Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
This is my fj20e with ford edis setup. Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
So is my fj an s12 or dr30 engine? Quote Link to comment
dat16v
Looks like a DR30. But I could be wrong. Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
I can post more detailed pix if needed for clarification... Thanx for the help dat16v Quote Link to comment
Pedro
The rocker cover is DR30. Need a better photo of the inlet manifold to confirm. Quote Link to comment
The Stig
Well from that angle it looks like its a early S12 motor, (84.5-??) the shorter intake (length of the plenum) is from the US12 and the taller cam cover is a trait of all FJs after a certain year, the later US12 motors have a tall cover with a slope angle on the front. A short cam cover with the shorter intake would be from the previous US110 gazelle model. DR30 models have a significantly longer intake plenum (than the S cars) with straight runners that have the same spacing on the plenum as the ports on the head. It also looks like a non turbo oilpump. A picture from the intake side would make it easier to tell. I see the trigger wheel on the pulley for the mega-squirt is that a custom piece? Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
Great info stig. Thank you. Yeah the trgger wheel is off a ford escort. Im runnng this fj on megasquirt and edis... And this motor is an na fj20e. Ill post pix of the intake mani in a bit. Quote Link to comment
The Stig
So does the trigger wheel sit on the outer end of the pulley on the escort too?? Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
No it sits on the inside. This one I just ground down the outer most grove so the trigger wheel sits where the ps belt would normally ride... Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
Here is another pic with the intake mani... Quote Link to comment
