Show me your Tool............

Nah. I don't use Craftsman stuff either.

It's not always about you flatcat.

The only time I grab an adjustable wrench is to tighten or adjust something on a kids bike.

I have used my "hacks wrench" probably a dozen or so times in a few years of owning it thinking about it. I was always glad it was there I know! One big job I recall was putting headers on a Ford 460 EFI in California so it had to have all the BS still. The EGR bung was way bigger then any line wrench I had and out she comes, done. Yeah I could of drove another vehicle to town, bought the right tool, burnt some gas, add an hour to the job, no.

And actually I used it to work on my 5th Wheels water heater just the other day. I had to remove a gas line and the bracket was so flimsy I had to get on it from the other side for support to break the nut free. Being clamped it was nice that it didn't move or damage the fitting because the nut was pretty tight.

No. I'm still hauling all my tools home when it's time to do work.

Kind of wish I had a spare set for home. Even if, God forbid, Craftsman.

I could never be that disorganized though.

You must have some weird nightmares. Like Craftsman is the devil coming at your soul or some crazy shit.

Did you break a hand, lose an eye, sacrifice your first born because of a faulty Craftsman tool in the past or something?

I have rounded many fasteners and cracked many knuckles because of Sear's finest.

But that's not really my issue with them. My biggest problem with them is their two-faced warranty.

Go return tools wearing a mechanics uniform. You will be turned down for warranty.

No thank you. For the same money, better tools can be bought.

I own and use more HF than I do Craftsman.

And of those HF tools-they actually get used regularly with much force.

I like it, and get it. I've only broke a few tools in my life.

My impact pieces from HF... I'll stand behind them.

I'll stand behind the bigger ones. Not anything 22mm or smaller.

I actually had a HF 1/2" 19mm impact socket explode on the end of my gun.

Oddly, I was wearing Mechanix gloves at the time-something I never do.

Well that's sketchy. I think 22 is the mid range of my sets.

But the power behind is a HF impact, prolly good.

That thing!

No full time mech would own one for that type of continuos work. But I own half a dozen vehicles and for the jobs that come up to maintain them.

Best $35 dollars I've spent on a power tool.

I'd more impressed if you guys were willing to stand beside them, while in use...

I know exactly what you mean Flat, about the Craftsman warranty thing.  But they became my go to once I left the last job were I had access to a Snap-On truck.

And now, with the closing of the 2 nearest Sears stores, and the haphazard line support that ACE gives Craftsman tools, I've been looking at online Snap-On purchasing and just waiting on the ship times.

Had warranty issues also, was told it was improper use when a old 9/16 box end wrench gave out. Crappy tire warranty is the best tho, 16 year old who dosen't giva shit or know better hands you a new one and you walk out.

I remember once hearing nothing but praise about Craftsman and Sears.

That was from a deceased gentleman who had a house on his property ordered from the actual no shit Sears catalog.

He had a bunch of old Craftsman power wood working tools he told me belonged behind the glass at Sears.

I stand back with eye pro in any impact situation. But yeah, I guess I'd feel safer with a high quality piece for sure.

I did walk out with twenty large 1/2 drive deep wheel impact sockets when money was/is in intervals tight for almost a buck a piece though... six years and countless jobs ago.

If you do this for a living.....Craftsman can't hang.....we abuse our tools....

.....and regaudless of the warrantee...

.......I don't want my tool to break/strip/get fucked up while I'm in the middle of a job that needs to be done before the end of the day......

So....with that said.....Craftsman is fine if you're not trying to make money with your tools......

........but if you are......it's gonna hurt you to have shitty tools....

I agree with busta nut

I don't wrench for a living and most of what I own are craftsman because of the cost and convenient warranty

sears is 4 mins from my house

I will say craftsmen tools 10 years ago were made of better metal for sure but its still guaranteed

I went in to get a ratchet exchanged a half 1/2 drive  and a 3/8  drive one of which I found on the side of the road

apparently if they have rust on them at all they repair them and don't replace them and the repair is at the discretion of the 16 to 20 year old girl or boy working

I've said it before, if I need to trust this tool to do the job at hand...that tool will have a trustworthy name on it.

Life, limb, or quality of work.

Wanna compress a suspension spring with a 36" Harbor Freight prybar? I don't.

How about break a crank bolt loose with a Craftsman breaker bar?

Yield to torque head bolts with your HF torque wrench?

It's a matter of how important that tool is for a certain job for sure.

Example; my torque wrench is Snap-On...

Because that shit's important!

And hell no I don't trust no Harbor Freight for that!

My Snap-On torque wrench has lights, and vibrates. I think it even beeps.

EDIT: I have 4 Snap-On torque wrenches.

1 of them is the Willy Wonka special. The other 3 just click.

Post pics or I don't believe you.

Dark with the lights working would be so kool!
