Figbuck Posted October 28, 2008 Report Share Posted October 28, 2008 Good thread. I looked for a long time trying to find cool looking mirrors. Well, cool looking mirrors that actually work. I finally swallowed hard and bought these from the Pegasus Racing catalog after I saw them on a formula race car. I got the nylon versions and not the carbon fiber. They also have flat or convex mirror glass options and I got the convex. It was a bit of work to get them how I wanted them. After driving with them for a year getting used to the convex glass, I really like them. Here is the drivers side after I figured out where it needed to be to have an easy view. I'm fabricating a backing plate out of aluminum so it would be easy to machine. Tapping the backing plate to accept the hex head screws provided with the mirrors. Bore holes in the backing plate so I can fasten it to the door skin with a counter sunk flat head screw. Tighten the set screw to hold the mirror stem at the right angle. Locating the bracket's mounting hole. Mounting bracket fastened to the inside of the door skin. Here they are when I was all done. Quote Link to comment
