starter keeps turning!

my 76 pickup has a brand new starter in it and today I shut off the truck and the starter keeps going. im panicking please help

This is a pretty simple system and you can fix it. Did you just put the starter in? Was it working before? Does your key spring back from the start position? Do you have a multi meter?

First thing you do when a new problem crops up is look at what you did last. New starter... new problem... probably the starter solenoid is jammed. Replacement stuff these days is a crime. They make them overseas so cheap they can offer a lifetime guarantee. 

 

Never throw away the old stuff... it's usually better than the rebuilt.
