So how do you know it's "reality tv"?

Not to fret. There's not one real thing on that show. You can watch it.  B)

In the Matrix it's always a just a show and Nanner lives, well shall we say one foot always in

A little maybe, but nothing to pee down your leg over.

Kinda

The more I scrolled through those pictures, the more I got pissed off. I just can't see spending all that money on a car that never gets driven. And you can tell it is a trailer queen just by looking at it.

that is an insane build   but

where is the fun in building a car you cannot drive

put the motor in something realistic and drive the shit out of it

If we are being honest, the engine almost equally a waste in that aspect. Two blowers is kinda dopey and would get it's ass handed to it by the same engine with a properly done single turbo. Each to their own thing and what they enjoy, but I have never gotten that myself. Then again, another thing I don't get is building a 7 million dollar mansion next to the freeway. I would rather live in a van with 7 million bucks worth of land somewhere. I guess they don't see the point in building such a lavish home if 200 thousand people a day don't see it when they drive past.

The car was probably built by some dumb ass CNC engineer, NOT a real car person. Everything on the build is there for looks, not functionality. Theres tons of stuff that I picked out that was just "why would you even do that??" because it looks cool and draws your eye to it. Otherwise, that thing is no better than a piece of 1 million dollar ugly jewelery.

From a production standpoint, the person/people who did this all had more money and time than brains. When I set a machine up to run parts, it runs like 100-400 of them, not 6-7 for one job and then its done. I mean more power to being able to do all of this, but it was either done over a period of year during machine downtime, or it was done in a shop that has FAR less work than money. All I know is from looking at that car, there is a guy with about one ton worth of holding fixtures for all those parts, and all those fixtures got used about twice.

Well, I am not really ALL about 100% function myself, I have a tendency to put shiny shit where it serves no real purpose other than me liking the way it looks. Shit though, that sort of thing is just goofy to me. I have a couple friends that are the total polar opposite of that, they could not possible care less how something looks as long as it works. I swear some of them actually go out of their way to make something more ugly than it needs to be. I like a little balance on my own stuff, something I can use and beat on, but will actually take the effort to try and miss a giant stump in my way rather than just plow into it.

I once built a bike for a guy and I swear to you, the ONLY time it was ridden was when I test drove it before he picked it up. Seriously, the fucker flopped down 45k to have it sit on a checkered floor in his man cave. I should not be bothered by it, because that money spent just the same as any other, but I spent so much time on balancing everything, cam choice, head work, rake and trail, all things that would make it run good and handle good, it's sort of a shot to the balls to see it used for display purpose only. Shit, I could have save him like 35k and just build a shiny husk of a bike. But whatever I suppose. I made a couple bucks and he got what he asked for.

Which is not really 'great' either, unless you're filming a new mad Max movie.

This is a common problem around our shop. My shopmate (dimlight65) is big on 95% function, 5% form. I'm a little closer to 50/50.

Although I'm currently obsessing over making a rear spoiler (that has zero function), and making the wheels fit more flush to the fenders (maybe 10% function). So he might tell you I'm more 30/70.
