He has gone 195mpg on the salt. Wants to run 200mph for a personal goal. It has dipped into the 8s at over 150mph in the 1/4. It is a bad ass little car!!! datzenmike
If allowed he should be using a turbo. SC are highly parasitic. Takes 125 hp to drive the compressor to make 300 hp. A turbo is almost all free and then there's inter cooling. This most specially true at top speeds. What about some streamlining? SC plus bug catcher is like a barn door. Quote Link to comment

ratpatrol66
Pontiac history kids. From 1961 to 1963 Pontiac produced a 4cyl. based off the right bank of a 389. The lowest HP rating was 110 for the single carb. 4bbl were available with 166HP. Edited August 28, 2019 by ratpatrol66 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
We had several 4 cylinder GM engines that were donated to our schools auto shop for display. I don't know if they were Pontiacs. To me they looked like half a chev engine but could be wrong. Did they make other half engines? and would they have been used in a early '60s chevy Nova or chevy II ? This was mid '60 and heavily into the Muscle Car Era and I never gave even a 6 cylinder engine a glance. 1 Quote Link to comment

Friend of my dad had one of these in his shop on a stand he had purchased from a guy scrapping his midget sprint. Said he had no idea what to put it in, but liked how it looked. As did I. goes2fast
How about putting one in one of these? There used to be one around here with a L20B and side drafts sticking out of the side of the hood running around here. They only weigh about 1500 lbs so a 4 cylinder is plenty. 😀 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
I don't buy it. By definition remote mounting. Mount anywhere so mount upright. Or is it that two wrongs (fram) make a right????😄 2 Quote Link to comment
goes2fast
I guess he could have mounted it outside the body work and hoped that no one ever hit it in a track encounter. 🤣 1 Quote Link to comment
