Caught him in the yard one day and he said his son was "restoring it." :rofl: I guess by what he meant was restoring the processed steel to its natural dirt form? That was 5 years ago though. I have gotten some REALLY great cars and trucks out of fields by just asking, but I have also had the door slammed in my face more than once (even before making an offer). Some people just do not want to let shit go, which, in a way, I get. I have this old Ford truck I drive around from time to time and I have had a few offers to buy it from me. I always tell them that it's been in my family for over 40 years and is not for sale. A while back, a guy asked me if I would sell it, I told him the same thing, but he just kept after me. He said "name a price, everything is for sale". I told him that yes, I would sell it, but the price for it would be so crazy that it would not even be worth mentioning. I figured that would make him get the hint, nope, he kept after me to tell him what I would sell it for. So I just pulled the number of 50 grand out of my ass. Get this...he acted all pissed off, like I was trying to rip him off and said in a really snide voice "Pffft, good luck with that, you would not even get 10 out of it". This was at the landfill, I had finished unloading my truck and he was still standing there waiting for me to take his offer I guess. I seen his daughter sitting in his Toyota and asked him how much for the girl (with a straight face). He got the hint or got frightened, either way, he left before I did. 6 Quote Link to comment

I imagine if I was super persistent this guy would sell. Then again looking at how he is a pack rat and hasn't done yard work in years I don't think he has the ability to give up anything.
