Datsun Dude
I saw in another thread where a guy was making some emblems and other small items for his 240Z in a 3D printer. I think this idea is genius! Perhaps someone can make a model of the never-present 411 hubcaps? Dash cap for the radio? Other hard to find parts? Jay Leno is already doing it.http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/extras/articles/jay-lenos-3d-printer-replaces-rusty-old-parts-1/http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/jay-leno/technology/4320759 3D scanner and printer video: Your thoughts? MikeRL411
Not very Ratsun ... maybe some day that stuff will be cheap enough. I don't know, you might want to ask Jay to make those items for you? Offer him a ride in your 411! He just might like it enough to try and buy it from you. But --- 3D plastic porthole RL411 or slotted PL411 wheel covers? You would have better luck getting an itinerant gypsy tinsmith to hammer you out a set. Sounds like a profitable side line for a high school or trade school metalworking class project? Quote Link to comment

I don't know, you might want to ask Jay to make those items for you? I think it's very cool. You can get a 3D printer now for under $500. I think Jay would love a good ol' 411. He loves the 510! Then you have a shop stamp out as many as you want. Think that's how it works, anyway. Quote Link to comment

graveltrapp
I think you can now get smaller 3D printers for around $1000.00 that run off your PC, aka rapid prototyping. http://www.3ders.org/pricecompare/3dprinters/ Quote Link to comment
