datzenmike Posted June 30, 2018 Report Share Posted June 30, 2018 The '79 and up had three top bolts for the thermostat cover. Course it could have been put on an older head... But this does not explain the round exhaust ports, that till now were on the '78 and up W58 L2B head. Also that A87 doesn't appear to have the water cooled intake holes. Quote Link to comment

This was my daily and was awesome. Built big turbo 1.6 diesel running 30psi for over 80k miles :( The engine was super fresh, and didnt even have ring ridge! It drove home 15 miles like this.
