my KYB's had the same top profile and came with a cap that fit the insert snug and took the "wiggle" out of the strut tube. Hard to see in the picture but you can see the cap fit tightly in my strut tube. I think the "spacer" in the NAPA pic mentioned earlier is this missing cap that fits the interior of the strut tube.

Two minutes research, I found this.

Take some more time DatMo, maybe you can find some other gland nuts.  Or call T3 and see if these will work on the Datsun struts.  They sell the shortened version of the 280zx strut, so they should be able to see if the threads are the same.

I got it. i actually bought another o-ring and i did torque more but whenever it moved, threads would losen as i said before.

and i put a lot of pressure to test it.

I shaved off a bit more off the bottom but the o-ring basically left the same amount of threads as it did without shaving it.

It all worked well.

and as he said, the fluids are just a what if.

I've known that gas shocks usually don't have the problem of over heating nor do i think dd will do much to cause the problems.

but it will always reassure me since i have the fluids.

Thanks for the help guys!

I need to probably shave less.

But I'm arab so the genes take an affect.

NEW PROBLEM.

I was putting everything together and discovered this.

It was from the shipping sadly...

I was told i need new sealers?

and both sides are damaged as you can see

I don't wanna make a new thread but any idea or advice?

Damn!  Did you have insurance on the shipping?  That's the inside of the hub....The more important side. You can try to heat the specific area's up with a torch, and use a ball-peen hammer to straighten it, but failing that, I think I'd go shopping for new ones....

I guess I'll have to send em back to tenafter.

he said he'd fix them for me but is it that bad that they won't work?

I don't have insurance. tenafter sent them awhile ago.

He's been too kind helping me out. I owe him too much

i havent mounted them to know anything and i will be sunday to see how it goes.

So dissapointing

Damn dude. It totally bums me out your having all these problems. I wrapped each and every part to try and avoid that. I wish they were unwrapped months ago so it wasn't down to the wire to get them done. Either way. If you need I can put these on the lathe and straighten them out. But either way. That totally sux balls. :(.

Hey Datmo. Send me those hubs. I have a set here I will replace them with. So you don't have to worry bout them.

i feel bad that you're helping me because you sold it and the rest is up to me. Dude you've been to kind to me.

Like i told you, I'll go to a shop and try to get em done at my dads friend so i won't have to waste your time.

Thanks a ton though.

I'll be going literally right now to see how it works out.

I finally got the shocks centered and all. now another problem...

I'm somewhat on the same page as klassic

I'm having a problem where I'm missing a bearing or something?

I also have no idea where to even get it or what it is....

I need the thing in between the camber plates and top hot.

I'm curious, what is it that can be done on a lathe? How do you do it?  I've heard of wheel shops straightening wheels, but I don't know how that's done.

I used some cylinder medal piece my dads friend gave me and i hammered out the bends and the new seals went in smoothly.

but now im having a problem like you
