Burabuda
exactly! we are very spoiled here on the left coast and tend to take it for granted that cars (especially JDM datsuns) are what they seem only when you strip them down do you realize the weird places they rust and the extent of structural damage out of the dozens of JDM bluebirds & skylines here in the states, my guess is only 8-10 have been properly stripped down & derusted Quote Link to comment
heywier427
It is a shit ton of work! I just hope he prepped and zinc primer'd behind all that welding. With all that work, why no stitch welding. Why no seam sealing? And what is that last picture of? Quote Link to comment

the510keeper
Did you decide against keeping one James? Everything is for sale, gives me a reason to get more, however my contact over seas said this is the last of the coupes he will be shipping, to much of a headache. The 3 I just imported were so expensive just to get off the boat. It's not worth doing. for example I have a shell was offering it at $4000 but after figuring the bullshit involved, I have more into it then that. 1 Quote Link to comment
carterb
What do you know about that car/picture? Looks like my "trouble". I realize there is more than one silver coupe in the world but mine had silver flares, (different) door mirrors, and a black license plate light as well. as it sits today: 1 Quote Link to comment
Burabuda
ha ha no way that's gotta be same car! i'll try to find the site. some blog entry a few years ago. they made a big deal about putting the flares on but no idea why... Quote Link to comment

carterb
Yes and there are still holes in the door trim from where they were mounted. (!) Different wheels too. These things come and go. When I bought the car he mentioned he still had a set of watanabe wheels back in Japan. 1 Quote Link to comment
