Dawa
dig! ive been wantin to run soemthing different than that rectangular baseplate and filter but havent put much effort into it. i dont think your breather tube needs that filter though. the air within the filter is already filtered, and the air coming out of the valve cover doesnt need to be Quote Link to comment
Dawa
ooh, is that the 'flame arrestor' ? ive never seen one so i wouldnt know, just saw it in my fsm Quote Link to comment
laotsu
so I'm not positive aboot the Holley knockoff shown here but it deff looks like a Weber DFV, especially because of the air cleaner gasket. My point is that the barrels are reversed on the DFV so the Offenhauser intake is working backwards with that carb since the primary opens into the runner intended for the secondary. I wonder what the performance is like. Quote Link to comment
EricJB
Correct. The dfv is sort of a mirror image of the dgv. The df has a diamond shaped base and the dg has a rectangular one. The mounting base and internals are the same, but opposite. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Is a PCV Valve necessary to regulate the vacuum? Or is it more or a blow back prevention mechanism? I know it is both, but I wonder if just running a straight hose to the intake, from the crankcase is a performance problem. Perhaps the change in vacuum at speed would effect mix.
