datzenmike Posted July 2, 2013 Report Share Posted July 2, 2013 It will run at 0.032 but with the higher output EI and coil you can open the gap up for a longer fatter spark. This often results in a smoother idle because it will fire a wider range of mixtures specially the leaner hard to light ones. It is important the the plug wires cap and rotor are in good shape. High voltage ALWAYS looks for the shortest path to ground. If the cap and wires are not up to it the spark will find a way around them. Increasing the plug gap makes it harder. The spark has to see the plug gap as the easiest way to ground. Quote Link to comment
