herculesinwyoming
My 1976 620 is finally road worthy. I do not plan for it to be my daily driver. Just a sunday drive type of truck until I work more bugs out. I am checking in to collector plates here they are called pioneer plates , the kind only for vehicles you only drive occasionally to parades or shows. Whats my best bet for insurance coverage. I am sure state farm would value it at zero. Quote Link to comment
SlottedMagz
In my opinion USSA, off the top of my head i cant remember what i pay anually and I pay up front for the whole year but its inexpensive comparitivly and the big bonus is they have collecter car insurance that will insure your car not only what they deem its worth but also what you have invested. So for example say i bought my Z for 4500 then spent the next year or so throwing ludicrouse amounts of dough at it say another 4000(with receipts) im at 8500 then a month later its totalled I send the company all my receipts and such and they give me 8500. I thinks thats rather radical yo. Call some different companies and see what you can get 1 Quote Link to comment
darrel
agreed value collector car insurance - Hagerty. Limited miles, pleasure, parades, car shows, must be garaged. Can't be used to haul stuff or be a daily driver. You have to have another car with proof of coverage. By far the cheapest for my 240z. agreed value at $5K about $100 a year. I have their road side assistance which rivals AAA premium for another $125 or so. Liability only on the truck is about $25 a month. Not sure what an agreed value policy would be for the truck, but then it's used to haul stuff and wouldn't qualify for agreed value. I could get full coverage regular insurance with stated value, but haven't looked into that. http://www.lelandwest.com/stated-value-vs-agreed-value-classic-car-insurance.cfm Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
I think SlottedMagz means "USAA". Also check out Hagerty, they have insurance packages for antique and rare cars driven only in parades and to car shows. Check all possibilities! As to value! You can't beat www.nadaguides.com/classic-cars/ enter your make and model as prompted. These are real valuations, not hanger queen pristine models and are so stated and give the lie to the insurance adjuster's "There's no listing for a car that old." B.S. Never accept the crap the adjuster tries to give you. He's paid by the insurer to screw you. Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
I have Hagerty on my Cutlass. It's $200/yr for agreed value of $8k. What darrel said about the other car as a DD is true. They audited my Cutlass application because I listed my 510 as my daily B) . It's pretty simple and can be done online. I haven't had a claim with them yet so I don't know how good they are on that front. Quote Link to comment
darrel
I had a friend who had to file a claim. They totaled his car, 280z. as agreed they paid out agreed value no hassle. Now he has a '73 240z which would have been mine if I had the money. Quote Link to comment
SlottedMagz
yes i meant USAA looking at my ins im at 4000 miles for w/e then past that unlimited miles for shows parades and such for 500 a year with 8k value plus any money i spend on parts and labor if i have receipts to prove it Quote Link to comment
Dawa
i have progressive insurance but they wont fully cover it, on liability. so if it burns down or anything else, im effed. ive been meaning to hit up one of the classic car insurers. however mine is a DD. anyways, progressive liability only 15 a month :/ Quote Link to comment
SlottedMagz
Dawa usaa isnt a bad way to go their insurance is well priced plus if you werent aware they are owned and operated by vets and will take care of you Quote Link to comment

Dawa
yeah ive been meaning to get a quote from (usaa) them. ill do it next week Quote Link to comment
yellowdatsun
Hagerty. But like most collector insurance companies they have a minimum value, which I believe is now $4000. So make sure the truck looks decent. If it's all primer you'll have a hard time convincing them it's worth $4k. Quote Link to comment
