slidman
Hey I bought a house and found this Hitachi carburetor in garage is a brand new look like it spend bunch of years here but looks brand new and I was doing some research and looks kinda similar to the one that datsun 510 had l13 or l16 but not quite exactly since ive matched it to this drawing http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun510/Datsun510Index/Engine/Carburetor/L16Auto/FromJul72/tabid/501/Default.aspx if anyone could look at these pictures and try to solve this mystery it would be great ! datzenmike
Probably really early 510 Hitachi. 521 and 620 L16 had throttle cable. Early 610 L18 had cable. 1200 had cable. Has manual choke but no BCDD. Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Looks similar to the carb that came on what we called the Bluebird (USA called it the 910). I've got a complete spare L18 at home from a 910 which I'll have a look at tonight. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Anything legible on that paper tag? Quote Link to comment
LenRobertson
I have a dim memory of Hitachi having a model number on the side of the carb body. Done in ink or something so I think it gets cleaned off of carbs with age on them. But it may be visible on a carb in nice condition. Look at the body in bright light and see what you can find. Does anyone know what I'm remembering, or am I having another hallucination/false memory? Len Quote Link to comment
