p411
Hey guys finally got an early 310!! Ill post pics soon. but till then I have a few questions. 1) Will a complete 1966 conv top frame fit a 64? 2) Am I able to bolt on spindles off of a 66 disc car and mount them to my 64 for a disc upgrade over than drums ? and if so what years can I use? up to 70 maybe. Thanks for helping a 310 newb in advance!! Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
If this is a 1500cc roadster, especially with the first issue single SU carb with banjo air filter housing, I would be very careful about modifying it. These are rare cars! Quote Link to comment
p411
Its actually an early 65 dual SU 1500. Still a bit rare, but your right Im going to keep it as stock as I can but it has no top now. how about a hardtop does anyone know if the 66 hardtops will fit the 1500s? Thanks in advance ! shifty
The '65s were transitional, meaning it may or may not have certain parts that changed around that time. If you windshield frame is like the early 1500s, it will have 3 short "rods" on the top edge for the bow of the top. Later cars have 2 holes for the latches on the later bow. They are not interchangeable. Later spindles with disc brakes will swap over, but you will no longer be able to use the stock 13" 1500 wheels.
