I had a 81 720 that had a dark blue paint with a metal flake look to it. Not sure but i think it was a factory paint. Cleaned up an extra hood today and its a really nice dark blue with metal flake as well, a very pretty color when fresh and waxed up im sure. Ill try to get some good close-ups of it in the morning to see if I can show you. And as a plus, darker colors are easier to keep clean...er

I say stick with the tan. It will still look good. Screw that guy's truck; I noticed it on the way up to your place and I snickered to myself when I saw that he did the wheels the same color(doesn't look good at all in my opinion).

If you went ahead and did it, I wouldn't be surprised if he balked and wanted to repaint his "bowtie" the instant he saw some "Chinese POS" driving around the same town, the same color as his pride and joy.

Why don't you look at colors people have painted their car/trucks on the internet ..... ... so you can cross off all those colors too..

..... semi-gloss tan or even gloss tan will look so much better than that POS chevy's flat tan,,, no one will even notice
