Mattndew76
Every time I look at those skylines its almost as if the designers used the Plymouth GTX as inspiration. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Every time I look at those skylines its almost as if the designers used the Plymouth GTX as inspiration. I'm sure they did, to some extent. A lot of late 60s early 70s Japanese cars borrowed very heavily from Detroit muscle cars of the era. But since they came out within 12 months of each other, I wouldn't think they bit their style too much... 1 Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
That car is so purdy. Little angry coupe with a taste for citrus. Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
Ok I looked up the chronological order of Skyline design and Plymouth GTX - Belvedere.. 1971 Datsun 2000 GT-X Skyline 1967 Plymouth GTX Belvedere Not within 12 months of each other, but if this is the car Datsun engineers decided to take style ques from.... Then good job. The GTX and GT-X are sweet cars. 1 Quote Link to comment

Not sure where you got those dates, but the C10 skyline was designed in '67 and went on sale in '68. '71 was the intro of the GT-X spec model, but not the body style itself. 2 Quote Link to comment
