I build them to go! Not to stop!", No Buggatti were front engine, front drive, or a mutant rear engine, rear drive. American car manufacturer's have never produced anything as sexy as the European cars of the era. I might be tempted to say "The Lincoln Contentental [Mark 1 to distinguish it from follow ons]" produced until 1947 Modified Lincoln Zephyr body and engine [by Edsel Ford, Henry;s son, No kidding!]. If you wanted to rebuild the engine [and you had too, frequently] you should have replaced the Ford 2 ring pistons with Hudson 3 ring pistons! Better oil control and compression retention. Golf club door storage receptacle was standard.
