DON'T Use Photobucket on Ratsun

Recommended Posts

There has been an update to the mobile photobucket and it is wayyy easier to navigate but it is wayyy spammier (or would it be more spammy) glitches and freezes on my Android phone probably 50% of the time. But when it works it is easier.

All you need is a digital camera and a computer. A cell phone will probably serve.

Open a free PhotoBucket account

Upload your pictures to this free picture hosting site.

Go to your account and copy the image code

Come to Ratsun and post your pictures.

Surely someone can help you set this up, the rest is just adding more pictures to your account and bringing them here to post. It's really practice makes perfect.

I got it on the first try, just lucky I suppose. Just keep experimenting. A picture is worth a thousand words and this helps as a tool for diagnosing. It's quite the handicap not being able to post your pictures.

The main problem I have had with photo Bucket are all the popups.  Before I would login in and wait until the popup of the page of advertisement of various pictures came up and I would close it.  that ones would come up twice several seconds apart.

I run Fire Fox for a browser with Google as my search engine.

I recently installed Adblock Plus and it has eliminated all but the dog popup.

This is developed for the Firefox Browser.

I need to take time and add that one to the Block-able Items List and it will go away.  Or refresh you Adblock Preference Filters.  I do each one once a week.  Be sure ad update your Filter Preferences after installation.  I update each Preference Filter Individually.  By doing this you will also have new Preference Filters added from time to time

Charlie I hear you, I also have FF and Google. If I stay in PB too long my puter jams up and I have to shut it down to clear. Thus, I get in get out as fast as I can. It tries to download something and my puter starts whirring and chattering away. PB is no friend of mine. All I want is to store pictures I can easily get at..... right. I have to wade through f/b, twitter, shit I don't even know what it's for or need.

Need to try this.

Since I started running Firefox as a browser I have had minimal trouble with Photobucket.  I tried Google Chrome first but it was not much better than Internet Explorer.   I am still running Windows 7 Ultimate and have not personally tried Windows 10.

I do not have anything to do with Social Media, it is bad enough that the US government Hawk eye's our internet usage but I do want want to open my computers up to foreign hackers/governments any more than I have to.

I just think you have to cover your ass as best as you can.  CYA

I have been researching Adblock Plus and found out that I was wrong in stating it is for FireFox only.  In fact, Adblock Plus (ABP) is an open-source[8][9]content-filtering and ad blocking extension developed by Eyeo GmbH (Wladimir Palant), a German software development company. The extension has been released for Mozilla Firefox (including Firefox for mobile[10]), Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge (beta version), Opera, Safari, Yandex Browser and Android.

This program has helped me use Photobucket much easier.  You do have to update filters every couple of days manually because there is no auto update feature.  Small price to pay for being able to work in Photobucket.  Oh this program is free for personal use, but you can also donate to help keep this alive.

I don't have many issues with Photolame in general, every once in a while instead of my photo showing up I get an ad, but I just move on.

But I have a desk top and use google chrome, I also use Ghostery an anti-tracking extension.

I noticed on one of the forums I frequent with ads, that stuff I just looked at on ebay was in the ads, that kinda made me mad, once I installed Ghostery all the ads disappeared except for the forum owners ads(MG forum), once I started using the anti-tracking extension a lot of stuff that used to happen went away.

The other day when I logged onto Photolame, Ghostery blocked 52 tracking cookies(trackers), shit like that has to screw stuff up, or at least slow things down.

One of my sons installed "adblock" on my PC so my wife could listen to you tube videos without commercials  ,,,,,,,,,, it has had the effect of amazeballs on the way i can use Photobucket now..  Used to be frustratingly impossible to use before just a week ago,,, now can bounce between here and there and file to file on that site easy as shit..

If I open Photobucket it takes a long wait after picking the photo I want to load. If I leave Photobucket loaded for longer than I need, it jams and I have to restart my computer to clear it. It just infuriates me.  I added ad block and that all went away. I often just use Google Images and find many of my pictures from Ratsun there.
