trukindustin1992
The transmisson in my 720 4x4 kept popping out of 5th gear so instead of paying a grand to have it rebuilt i bought a donor truck. Heres my dilemma. The trans that came out of my truck is the longer model trans. So i put the one from the donor truck in, come to find out the driveshaft (from the donor truck) going from the transmission to the transfer case wont work simply because the u-joints are bigger and the bolt holes dont line up on the yolk. Heres my question. Can i use the yoke from the donor truck? Or did nissan make the same length driveshaft with the smaller u joints? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Sealik
Swap the companion flange on the Tcase Early 720s had smaller u-joints....83+ the larger ones. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
That's what I did. Swapped the yoke. Probably wouldn't hurt to replace the seal too if changing the yoke. The top ones get dry from sitting. Quote Link to comment
