Despite public opinion R12 is not that hard to get, and with that new $10 can core charge in Cali not that much different in price from R134a, R12 also works better. The drier absolutely must be replaced at a minimum though (seals also). Putting in A/C is definitely a DIY thing, and Autozone rents the vac pump free with deposit. GLWS! Link to comment
