cgovia
can some one tell me what h4 lights are and how they look Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
very broad question... there are many different H4 lights, I have tried about 4 or 5 different brands, and prefer the Hella E-code lamps. They have THE BEST beam pattern, VERY much worth the money. As far as looks they vary widely also... the Hellas look stock. I have told many people over and over... if your gonna do an H4 conversion, at the very least add some relays, BEST case scenario would be to upgrade the entire headlight harness, heres the link you need... don't let the overwhelming info scare you off, near the bottom of the page he has the conversion harnesses for sale; http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/Headlights.shtml#OnLineOrdering Quote Link to comment
pl521sss
DQ has article on how to convert your headlights on 510 to H4. Pretty straight forward with very minor mod and installation. Going to H4 makes a big difference even with a ordinary H4 housing. You can get them for $20 a pair if your going for low budget upgrade. Of course, Hella is superior when it comes to lighting. What's everyone running for H4 bulbs? I have Solaris H4 bulbs and considering even a brighter one. It has a bluish tint to it and it's pretty at night. Got them 8 years ago for about $60 or more. I'm sure H4 bulbs has gotten better since then. Just curious what everyone is using now. Quote Link to comment

Bleach
There are a lot of cheap and poor quality H4 bulbs out there so be careful. I always hear good things about the Sylvania Silverstars. Quote Link to comment
Gensaiken
I have Piaas for my H1's and H4's. Can be spendy bulbs but they are soo bright. The sylvania's are pretty good too. I've run them on some newer vehicles with good results. I'm currently using a Hella housing for the low beams (cibie distributor raised prices) and cibie for the high beams. They both seem to work very well. Quote Link to comment

Hella's are pretty cheap. I'm sure you could find cheaper but they will be kinda crappy. But don't forget you'll have to do some custom wiring to make them work properly. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Peters shows the harnes above to install. Very EZ to install NO cutting or nothing. If you cant install this you shouldnt have a 510 Cheap H4 lamps=cheap Quality Buy Hella,Bosche,Cibie I seen a brand called Delta that was about 60$ apair If you have a 50amper or more more lternator I would suggest getting a 80/100watt bulb. The 5.75 lamp is just not as effiecentt as the newer designed housings Quote Link to comment
