allen dodson
Hey hows it going? Well heres the deal i have a 1970 datsun 521 that iam putting a 280z tranny in. Since the z tranny is long like the 620 transmission i thought i would use the 620 drive line in my 521. not sure what year would be the best. Maybe mid 70s. If you have one give me a call 503-851-9962. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
4 and 5 spds from '74 and up used the long tail trannys. The drive shaft is a two piece unit with center carrier bearing. Get the 280 or a 620 speedo cable to reach far enough to the back. The speedo swaps over to the pass side on the 280 tranny. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
So did the Automatics; at least, I was able to use an Automatic front driveshaft in my KC. The front sections are the same on all body styles (but differ by year- the '72-73 had a short transmission); the rear section depends on chassis length. Quote Link to comment
motavated
I got one! Its from a 77 or something. So you can use a 5 speed on this one I have. I have a 1974 620 and well I didn't need one after all.... Quote Link to comment
