91b22
Noticed on my datsun 620, the longer drive shaft has a small dent, ill get a pic of it tomorrow, should i be worried about this? also, when you take the rear yoke off the front shaft to replace the carrier bearing, do the front yoke on the slip yoke part, and the yoke the bolts up to the rear of the front drive shaft need to be on the same "plane"? thanks in advance for your help. datzenmike
I would mark the position of the driveshafts/U joints with a scratch so they can be put back together as they were. Carrier bearings rarely go bad. If vibration, it's likely a U joint or the rubber doughnut around the carrier bearing has rotted away. Without the rubber support the driveshaft becomes unstable and flops around. This thing... Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Small dent is fine but can't be bent. If bent, the weigh will be off center and will wobblw/vibrate. Quote Link to comment
hvyd
What would be awesome is if some one could come up with an aftermarket carrier. The stock replacements rubber goes bad so quickly especially if you do a good amount of hard driving. Quote Link to comment
