q-tip 11,641 Report post Posted February 3, 2014 Looks kind of like the "ultimate air dam" that pare composites makes/used to make. Quote Share this post Link to post

Dirttrack510 292 Report post Posted February 3, 2014 Ya'll know this is the "random 510 pics" thread, not the "pics of your dime" thread right? :rofl Almost every dime in St. Louis is mine though :) Quote Share this post Link to post

datsunfreak 10,152 Report post Posted February 3, 2014 Looks kind of like the "ultimate air dam" that pare composites makes/used to make. Very similar, but that is much beefier to my eyes... Not a bad alternative though... Quote Share this post Link to post
qwik510 774 Report post Posted February 4, 2014 Very similar, but that is much beefier to my eyes... Not a bad alternative though... The airdam in this post is the Bofenkamp airdam. Also called the Ultimate 510 airdam. Jon Bofenkamp designed and built this airdam back in the 80's as a one off. Myself and other 510 owners urged him to reproduce them and he had a mold made and sold 10 of them. I bought one of the original 10. In the early 2000's, I had a mold made and sold them for a few years. My fabricator went MIA with the mold so I stopped offering them. I still have the original one so if we can get enough interest, I could look into this again. Quote Share this post Link to post

Just Joel 1,528 Report post Posted February 14, 2014 I always thought a Swamp cooler would look cool on a 510 wagon but based on that last pic it strikes me as being a bit "heavy" for the narrow upper frame/roof structure. Quote Share this post Link to post
sedition88 4,394 Report post Posted February 15, 2014 I've made myself a swamp cooler out of an ammo can for my 620, but will probably expand on it. As far the picture above is concerned it has a support bar that comes down the door that looks to tuck in between the window Quote Share this post Link to post
Just Joel 1,528 Report post Posted February 15, 2014 Sorry... heavy looking ;) structurally I'm sure it's fine... 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
