started to get some vibrations in my driveshaft, turns out the transmission is torn up on the housing around the spline where the driveshaft connects in, anybody know where i can find a transmission, or any suggestions as to what i should do, i want to keep this truck running as it is in great shape and is a fun little truck, thanks....

The '68 and up J13 powered 520 4 speed has the same tailstock as the 510 4 speed. The earlier '65-67 was different in some way but I'm not sure what. The driveshafts were the same for all J13 4 speeds so that's the same.

Might be worth getting a 510 4 speed and try swapping the tailstock. Well..... if you can't find another 520 4 speed that is......

datsunpolisher,

I am looking for the following:
1) Transmission Rubber Boot (photo attached) Item 30 at
http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun520/Datsun520521Index/PowerTrain/TransmissionCase/ToSep65/tabid/1455/Default.aspx
The boot for the transmission supplied with the J Series motor is different from the L Series supplied transmission.

2) COVER-DUST Item 22 at
http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun520/Datsun520521Index/PowerTrain/Clutch/J13ToSep66/tabid/1451/Default.aspx
Thanks,
Keith
