Izzat one with the tab supposed to face front or back? Top or bottom? What about the other one? it never looks right to me. Someone have an EZ reference guide for a stupidhead? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The order is: * cylinder * Lock Plate A (square-cut shim, open end points away from handbrake pivot) * Lock Plate B (round-ended shim) * Lock Plate C (angle-cut shim) * Lock Plate D (shim with Tab, tab faces towards the cylinder) * rubber dust cover Plates B,C,D have the open end toward the handbrake pivot Quote Link to comment
mtngoat
Hey thanks! I'm in there as I do some other stuff anyway. I think the stupid kit that came with the wheel cylinder only had three shims, I'll have a look at that and compare with your description. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, there are three-shim/plate version and four-piece versions. I think Tokico used four pieces, and NABCO used three. I got a replacement SANYCO version that is like the Tokico. Datsun manuals are not very clear on this either. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Found this in the 610 service manual. You can find factory service manuals as cheap as $5 if you watch ebay for a while. Quote Link to comment
DAT510
Those things were such a pain in the ass. 1 Quote Link to comment
