Pay someone to rebuild a carb? That will cost as much as buying a new one.

It's not rocket science if you have a large cleared space and a few hours to do it yourself. Some carb cleaner, rags, digital camera to record how the parts go together. Get a good kit with instructions and diagrams. Some will even have cardboard gauges to set the float drop and choke unloader. Just take your time and you'll learn how your carb opperates too.

You already asked this question back in December.

The exact CARB compliant kit is NLA from Redline, though you might try actually calling them and seeing if they can still get one.  They pop up on eBay maybe once or twice a year.  And it's NOT going to make any more power than a properly working Hitachi, in fact the 34DFT is actually a smaller carb than stock.
