280z dashboard in a 240z

could you fit a 1978 280z dashboard into a 1973 240z? with no modifications to the actual dashboard. and what about the 280z factory A/C? would it be able to be put on the 240z?

240z had a/c as a dealer option. You dont need to go through all that trouble. I believe msa still sells brand new kits. 

They arent direct and the 240z dash looks 10x better imho.

I figured a 280z a/c system would operate better than the bulky 240z system. did the 240z have a a/c compressor bolted to the engine?

They are more or less the same system minus the integrated center console controls. Yes it did, just like every z ever made.

I like the control setup on the 78. Much better. looks like its supposed to be there. unlike the 73that has added on components and knobs.

itl all have to be re wired too.

 

its not worth the trouble just for some A/C knobs.

if ya want a 78 dash sell it and get a 78.

I hear you about the controls, designed in and retro'd in are def dif. That said though for the trouble of doing all this dash swapping you could either just do a tasteful trick install on a 240 or do it on a native 280z and be done with it then and there.

Lots of wires to sort out 

the 240 dash is better looking even with an add on switch 

if you don't like the add on switch put it in a hidden location 

but its your car if your good with wiring and really want to do the swap post lots of pics to share info here BUT I would never do that myself
