recognize this centerconsole?

I picked this up from a customer of mine that i was restoreing a bel air for and he gave me this as a tip one day not sure what model car or year it is but i think

 its pretty sweet. just wondering if anyones got an info on it

That's an 1800SSS console!

Yep. Came in 1800SSS models... the small hole under the badge is for a rear defroster switch. Looks to be in great condition, good score.

It is. You could probably get $300-$350 if you tried to sell it. Great physical condition, rare piece... just missing that one switch which will be near impossible to find I imagine.

But is that a 510 console?

 

I was thinking it was for the 610 SSS. Don't know for sure.

Well not really a fake. That emblem doesn't belong, but it's the right console.

Dave, what do you mean? I've seen that same emblem in that same location on plenty of consoles. They came in [blank], 1600SSS, 1800SSS, and some with the Supersonic badges (which I believe are SSS Coupe only).

Ah, OK. I've only seen the blank ones. Is it 510 or 610?

It's for a 510. The fronts of 610 consoles are different though you may be able to get it to fit if you really wanted.

Almost any automotive rocker switch should fit.

Yes that's correct, you could probably make something work without throwing OEM aesthetics off too much.

im sure i can find something close to fit in there maybe a toggle for the electric exhaust cutout
